The Tower
A historical new construction completed in 1996.
In an effort to develop surface air missiles following World War II, the United States Navy established several missile testing and launch facilities, known as Operation Bumblebee.
In March 1947, Topsail Island became the permanent Operation Bumblebee testing and launch facility, causing the addition of eight three-story concrete towers to the island
The Tower was constructed in 1996 from one of these towers in Topsail Beach, North Carolina, and it still stands proudly today!
